05/04/19 - 'Vintage' football - Ardee Celtic vs Square United over 35s

A few short clips I recorded during the ' vintage ' match which was part of the fundraising efforts organised by the Malone family. A Night of Rock And Roll in Ardee in aid of Ardee Hospice .

Apologies for the jerky movements, I only have the drone a few weeks and haven't had much of a chance to get out with it..

28/05/19 - Ardee Cycling League Round 3 - New Kid On The Block

It was back to the Tallanstown circuit for round 3 of the Ardee Cycling Club Summer League. 14 year old Ciaran O'Connor from the Drogheda Wheelers Club was first to cross the line, from Stephen Carry (Ardee) with Aaron McCann (Drogheda Wheelers)  3rd. Andy McAfee was 4th and closely followed by Gary Gorman who moves into the overall lead of the league as it reaches it's halfway point.

14/05/19 - Ardee Cycling League Round 1 - Suns Out, Guns Out

The 2019 Ardee Cycling Club League kicked off with 2 laps of the Tallanstown circuit in the glorious sunshine this evening. Congratulations to James McMorrow on his victory here, it will hopefully provide  a welcome morale boost to the Drogheda Wheelers club who've been through a tough time over the past 2 weeks

21/05/19 - Ardee Cycling League Round 2 - The return of the king

Round 2 of the 2019 Ardee Cycling League was held over the formidable Dromin circuit. It was a nail biting finish with last weeks winner James McMorrow having to settle for second place behind Gary Gorman, by only a few cm. Andy McAfee fought hard to take 3rd place.

27/01/19 - Ardee RFC vs North Meath RFC

I took a ramble down to Ardee RFC to shoot their match against North Meath RFC. It was a hard fought match but despite some absolute brilliant pieces of play the visitors took the spoils on the day.

05/04/19 - A Night of Rock And Roll in Aid of Ardee Hospice

It was fabulous to witness the great turnout for the fundraising event for Ardee Hospice that was organised by the Malone family. You can say what you like about the town but when the chips are down the support is there.

19/01/19 Rambling with the Bambino

I had to go out with the bambino to shoot some photos of the castle for a college project for her. I hadn't been out rambling in a while, so I decided to grab a few shots that were on my list while I was out.

Now we know where Doc Brown & Marty McFly go to get a new flux capacitor for the De Lorean...

05/04/19 - A Night of Rock And Roll in Aid of Ardee Hospice - The Rusholme Ruffians Band

I had great plans to produce a video of the acts that performed but won't get a chance.
So here are the clips stitched together, warts and all.
It was great to see these lads take to the stage and play a cracking set on the night.

You can make the video full screen or view it on youtube by clicking on the links in the bottom right.

I will have another one of The Side Effects later on.

17/03/19 - Ardee St Patricks Day Parade

As usual the town was draped in sunshine although we did have a few nervous moments throughout the afternoon. It's always a great spectacle to watch with all of the local business , clubs and associations turning up to support it.
Candy Holten from Ardee Flower Club was the Grand Marshal this year.

05/03/17 - Cars And Coffee North East

A throwback to the first Cars And Coffee North East event that I attended back in March 2017. Little did I realise at that stage how much I would look forward to the first Sunday of each month after that.

30/12/18 - The Christmas Choo Choo

I fell in love with the goods trains that used to visit Ardee station from a very early age and was a regular visitor to the station to observe the comings and goings. The passenger service had been discontinued in 1934.
I was just reaching my teenage years, by which time I was able to ramble down to the railway station on my own, in the mid 70's but unfortunately the train service was discontinued in 1975. I have great memories of travelling on some of the special excursions to Dublin that were ran before the station and line closed down.
So it's no surprise that I still have that fondness for the steam trains that are ran by the Railway Preservation Society of Ireland and I was out photographing the recent Mince Pie Special that ran on 30th December. No 85 (Merlin) towed the carriages on the morning trip from Belfast to Dublin whilst it was No 4 who had the honour of towing them on the return trip.

03/03/19- Cars And Coffee North East

We were a bit nervous in the run up to the event as there was a storm due to sweep across the country but lucky enough it held off until after the show. Any fears that the storm would affect the turnout on the day were answered before 11am , because the main car park was full of top quality motors to see.

A quick chat with the owner confirmed that this was one of the very last 1st generation 911s to be made.

19/01/19 - Vincent Farrelly's Garage in Ardee

I can't explain why but I don't think I've ever photographed the old fuel pumps at the late Vincent Farrelly's garage before. I wonder when was fuel last filled at this little landmark.
I remember Maurice Welsh ( Walsh? ) used to have a bicycle repair shop in garage in bygone days. And I wonder when did he close down the workshop too.

06/01/19 - Cars And Coffee North East

That was a very long month since the last meetup at DKIT and there is no doubt that it was worth every minute of the wait for this event.
It probably was one of the largest turnouts for the event, but it was great to see such quality. The exotica generated plenty of attention as expected but there was also plenty of stunning machines of a more standard nature around the place.
My only thought when we were driving away today, how are they going to beat that turnout?

10/03/19 - Cars And Coffee North East Video

This is something that I've wanted to do for ages.
It took a lot of trial and error, mostly error to get to this stage.
I love the variety of cars that turn out each month for the Cars And Coffee North East meet.
All of the footage was shot with a DJI Osmo Pocket and edited with Da Vinci Resolve 15.

02/04/17 - Cars & Coffee North East

Throwback to the 2nd Cars & Coffee event that I attended at DKIT in Dundalk. By this stage I was hooked and it the first Sunday of each month would never be the same again.
